Vice President of Human Resources
About us
Silicon Quantum Computing is pioneering the future of quantum technology. As the world’s first company to manufacture qubits with atomic precision, we’re delivering quantum advantage today, not decades from now.
Founded by Professor Michelle Simmons, one of the world’s leading materials scientists, SQC has achieved major breakthroughs including the first single-atom transistor and the first integrated circuit built with atomic precision. Our Chair, Simon Segars, former CEO of ARM, brings deep global experience as we scale our technology and commercial impact.
Our quantum machine learning chip, Watermelon, is already accelerating AI in ways classical systems can’t match. We’re generating significant revenue and working closely with multinational partners to solve complex problems with quantum solutions.
SQC is a fast-paced, high-accountability environment where people grow quickly and contribute meaningfully. If you’re excited by deep tech, ambitious about your career, and ready to help shape the future of computing, we’d love to hear from you.
About the role
We’re looking for a strategic and hands-on HR leader to help shape the future of SQC. As Vice President of Human Resources, you’ll work closely with the CEO, COO and Senior Leadership Team to lead our People function across every stage of the employee experience.

You’ll be responsible for designing and delivering people systems that enable our team to thrive as we scale.

You’re equally comfortable coaching executives, navigating ambiguity, and rolling up your sleeves to build from the ground up. With a people-first mindset and a strong sense of strategic alignment, you lead with integrity and are energised by SQC’s mission to transform computing at the atomic scale.
Role responsibilities

- Build and lead executive development and coaching programs to grow leadership capability
- Manage HR systems, analytics and reporting to enable data-driven decision-making
- Lead and grow a high-performing HR team focused on excellence, impact and service
Your experience
- 10+ years of progressive HR experience, including 5+ years in senior leadership roles
- Background in scale-up, deep-tech, advanced manufacturing or R&D environments
- Proven track record of building and leading People functions across organisational development, HR operations and strategy
- Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Psychology, Business or a related discipline
- Strategic thinker with the ability to translate business goals into clear people priorities
- Trusted advisor to senior executives and board-level stakeholders
- Demonstrated success in shaping culture and leading organisational change
- High emotional intelligence, ethical leadership and a commitment to inclusive workplace practices
The recruitment process
For roles at SQC, expect 3-4 interviews, meeting a few members of the team and focusing on your core eligibility for the role, your skills and how they align, and finally your values and how they align. We'll give you a more specific runthrough if you're successful in making it to the first interview.
As part of our obligations to our clients, we require that successful candidates submit to background checks, including a National Police Check, Right to Work checks, as well as employment and qualifications verification. We won't contact anyone until we're confident there's a fit between SQC and yourself.
